The Dunn County Historical Society invites you to join us as we celebrate a quarter century of The Studio Gallery (1982–2007) and mark the tenth time that Bill and Shirley have participated in a duo exhibition.
Bill earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Art Education from UW-Milwaukee and did his doctoral work at Ohio State University. He taught art in Milwaukee area schools for six years. In 1966 he was tapped to develop an Art Education program at UW-Stout, where he taught until his retirement in 1992, and assisted in graduating more than 200 art educators.
Shirley earned a B.S. degree in Art Education from UW-Milwaukee, and an M.S. in Fibers and Related Arts from Stout State University. She has enjoyed a varied career as an art educator with assignments in Michigan, the Milwaukee area, Menomonie, Boyceville and Eau Claire, retiring in 1992.
Bill’s works exhibited here are created in a variety of media including encaustic, oil, drawing, collage, mixed media, print, watercoler. Shirley’s works exhibited here are primarily acrylic, but include watercolor and fiber collage.
